LOOGOOTEE, IN — In an exciting development for the Loogootee High School community, Mr. Trey Showalter has been appointed as the new principal, heralding a new chapter in the school’s journey.
The Loogootee Community School District made a heartfelt announcement on their Facebook page. They expressed their enthusiasm, saying, “Loogootee Community Schools is proud to welcome Mr. Trey Showalter as the new Principal of Loogootee High School. Mr. Showalter brings strong leadership and a genuine passion for fostering student success, and we’re delighted to have him join the Loogootee team.”
Mr. Showalter is seen in a warm family photo alongside his wife Megan and their son Jude. Jude eagerly awaits the arrival of their daughter Gia. Mr. Showalter boasts an impressive background in both education and athletics.
He gained recognition as a remarkable athlete at Barr Reeve High School. He excelled as a prominent member of the basketball team in 2009.
After finishing his high school journey, he transitioned into education and leadership. He served as Vice Principal at White River Valley Elementary Schools. There, he further honed his skills in guiding and inspiring young learners.
Now he hopes to take his talents to Loogootee High School starting in the 2025-26 school year.
