Loogootee City Pool in Need of More Lifeguards

A Message from the Loogootee City Pool Team on Facebook

This isn’t an easy post to make, but we want to be open and clear with everyone to help ensure a safe and positive experience for all our patrons.

👉 Slide Rules:

For safety reasons, all swimmers must be at least 42” tall and able to swim on their own to use the slides. Lifejackets, arm floats, and having someone “catch” at the bottom are not allowed. These aren’t just our rules—they’re in place for your child’s safety and our lifeguards’ ability to properly supervise.

Please don’t repeatedly question the guards. They’re following rules that keep everyone safe, and your cooperation helps more than you know.

👉 Admission Reminder:

Admission is $4 per person—and that includes anyone age 3 and up, even if you’re just coming to watch your children. We know this can be frustrating, but space and seating are limited. Your support helps keep the pool open and running.

👉 A Note About Staffing:

We are currently very short-staffed and doing everything we can to keep the pool open each day. Our lifeguards are working hard in the heat, under pressure, and with limited help. Please be patient, kind, and respectful—they are showing up every day to protect your kids and keep things running smoothly.

If you know any American Red Cross certified lifeguards, we’d love to add to our team! Please send them our way.

Thank you for your understanding, your support, and for helping us create a safe, fun summer for our community.
