A search warrant served on a rural Crawford County residence resulted in the arrest of that man as well as another who was there at the time officers served the warrant.
Officers from the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department, along with Indiana State Police troopers, went to the home in the 8000 block of West Sinclair Road on Aug. 6 in an attempt to locate Dennis Burgdorf Jr., 43, who had three active felony warrants out of Orange and Dubois counties.
After initially failing to respond to officers’ commands, Burgdorf answered the door and was taken into custody without incident.
As they searched the home, officers located Jeffery Dotterweich, 44, of East Broadway Street, Loogootee, along with an adult female and multiple children. The woman lives in the home.
Inside the home, officers found methamphetamine, marijuana, glass smoking devices, multiple hypodermic syringes and drug paraphernalia.
Dotterweich admitted some of the meth, a glass pipe and the hypodermic syringes were his.
He was arrested on Level 6 felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a syringe, as well as a Class B misdemeanor charge of visiting a common nuisance.
