LOOGOOTEE, Ind. — The Loogootee Post Office announced new temporary hours and a delayed full reopening date.
Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, September 2, 2025, the office will operate with limited hours due to ongoing transitions. Temporary hours will be from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Saturdays.
The office is still managing operations between two locations, with a full transition back to its main facility in Loogootee pending.
The new schedule aims to maintain service continuity during the transition.
You can still access your mail inside the Post Office through one’s mailbox inside the building and is open for business while transitioning back to Loogootee.

Will you be able to buy stamps
Thanks for asking!
I do not believe you can buy stamps at the USPS in Loogootee yet; they are still transitioning to their main office. However, the USPS advises that, for now, you buy stamps primarily at the Shoals or Montgomery Post Office. You can also buy them at the Washington Post Office.
