LOOGOOTEE, Ind. (Loogootee Times) — Police in the southwestern Indiana town of Loogootee are investigating reports of suspicious activity involving a white Toyota Camry and other vehicles in residential neighborhoods, authorities said Thursday.
According to the Loogootee Police Department, officers received information on Feb. 19 that a man driving a white Toyota Camry pulled into a residence on the west side of town, rolled down his window and motioned for a juvenile girl at a nearby home to approach his vehicle. The girl’s mother intervened and brought her inside before the vehicle left the area.
Police said they have received additional reports of suspicious vehicles stopping or slowing down in front of homes while children were outside.
Officers are investigating the incidents and conducting extra patrols in affected neighborhoods, according to a department statement. Authorities urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Loogootee Police Department at 812-295-2246 or Chief Case Cummings at 812-296-2516. In an emergency, residents should dial 911.
