Volleyball Recap: Loogootee Finds Home Court Redemption Against Bloomfield
There’s no place like home for Loogootee, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Bloomfield Cardinals on Saturday. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cardinals, too.
Loogootee easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-13.
Alaina Diamond paced Loogootee’s offense, picking up ten kills. Diamond were helped by Aubrey Gilbert and Lydia Hawkins, who contributed nine assists each. Jocelynn Sims controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Loogootee’s record is now 5-6. As for Bloomfield, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Coincidentally, Loogootee and Bloomfield will both be playing Evansville Mater Dei the next time they take the court. The Cardinals will head out to face the Wildcats at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Lions will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
