The Loogootee Lady Lion Volleyball team earned a 4th-place finish at the Goodpaster Invite this past Saturday, a tournament packed with strong competition and capped by a thrilling 3-set championship match that saw Evansville Mater Dei edge out Linton.
The Lady Lions opened the day with a victory over the Bloomfield Lady Cardinals. In their second match, they battled hard against eventual champion Mater Dei but came up short in two sets. Loogootee then faced the Boonville Lady Pioneers in the third-place match, falling in two sets to close out the day.
The results move the Lady Lions to 5-7 on the season. They’ll now turn their focus to conference play as they travel to Vincennes Rivet tonight, aiming to improve to 2-0 in Blue Chip Conference action.
