Celebrating the Life of Phyllis Ann Tedrow

Phyllis Ann Tedrow, age 78, of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14th, surrounded by her family.

She was born on August 14, 1947, in Jasper, Indiana, to Charles Vernon and Lela Mae (Huebner) O’ Brien.

Phyllis was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

She married Gary Tedrow on June 29, 1968.

Phyllis was a loving and devoted homemaker for mo-st of her life, and she work-ed by cleaning houses for others. She had a wonderful gift for creativity, enjoying sewing, painting ceramics, and making crafts that brought joy to those around her. Phyllis and Gary loved to travel to Mackinac Island, Michigan, which held a special place in her heart.

She found great happiness in her kitchen, where she loved to cook and bake for her family. Her greatest pride was caring for her loved ones, especially her grandchildren who held a special place in her heart. She was a good neighbor and a kind friend, always willing to lend a helping hand and care for others in any way she could.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Tedrow; son, Charlie (Jennifer) Tedrow; grandchildren, Karoline Tedrow and Jacob Tedrow; and several nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Charles William O’Brien.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 17th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Bramble. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday (today), September 17th, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital in memory of Phyllis Tedrow.
