Daviess Community Hospital (DCH) is opening its brand-new, fully renovated Laboratory Services space on Tuesday, September 23. Located near the front corner of the hospital—steps inside the main hospital entrance—the new setting makes it easier for patients and families to find and use the lab.
This project is part of DCH’s ongoing commitment to bring accurate, reliable diagnostic testing closer to home for patients in Washington, Loogootee, Odon, and communities throughout Daviess, Martin, and surrounding counties.
What’s New in the Hospital Lab
DCH’s comprehensive renovation and relocation deliver more comfort, capacity, and efficiency:
- ~30% more space (now ~4,500 sq. ft.)
- Redesigned waiting area for a more comfortable, welcoming experience
- Two additional blood-drawing stations for shorter waits
- One additional specimen-testing restroom
- Expanded testing space supporting advanced diagnostics
- Easy wayfinding: Main lobby → left of welcome desk
“This new laboratory facility enhances both comfort and efficiency—because every patient deserves both,” said Hannah Summers, MBA, MLS (ASCP)CM, director of laboratory services. “Patients can trust that their care remains at the forefront of every decision we make.”
