Emergency road closure on US Highway 50 has been announced due to a landslide approximately 4.75 miles east of the US 50/US 150 intersection, near the entrance to Martin State Forest.
Residents are permitted access up to the point of closure, but the highway remains shut to through traffic.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office has issued a statement urging motorists to seek alternate routes until further notice, as the reopening date has not yet been determined.
