JASPER, Ind. — The Loogootee High School girls’ golf team closed out its postseason run on Saturday at the IHSAA Jasper Sectional, carding a collective four-player team score of 481 to finish 12th in a competitive 14-team field at Buffalo Trace Golf Course in Jasper, Ind.

Boonville captured the sectional championship with a 391, narrowly edging tournament host Jasper by three strokes. Gibson Southern secured the third and final advancing team qualifying spot with a 428.

Competing against a deep field across the par-71 layout, the Lions were led by junior Jessica Pride, who paced the squad with a team-low round of 116. Pride delivered a steady performance throughout the day, carding a 57 on the front nine before bringing it home with a 59 on the back nine.

Hattie Humerickhouse finished closely behind Pride, turning in the second-best scorecard for Loogootee with a 117. Humerickhouse posted Loogootee’s best individual nine-hole stretch of the afternoon, shooting a 56 on the outward nine.

Claire Wolfe and Libby Schwartzentruber rounded out the team’s scoring positions. Wolfe carded a 121, pairing an outward 61 with an inward 60. Schwartzentruber finished with a 127 after turning in rounds of 60 and 67. Brynn Lengacher posted a 135 (66–69) as Loogootee’s fifth golfer on the course.

Individual medalist honors went to Boonville’s Lydia Aldridge, who fired an 8-over-par 79 to win the individual title by 11 strokes over teammate Kiera Carlton. Meanwhile, Perry Central’s Kinzley Blake (94) alongside South Spencer duo Ruthee Clark (97) and Danila Jarboe (97) advanced to the regional round as the top three individual qualifiers not affiliated with an advancing team.

While the Lions did not advance to the regional round, Loogootee finished ahead of Tell City (486) and Crawford County (496) in the final standings.
