
LOOGOOTEE, Ind. — Loogootee High School is excited to welcome a familiar face back to its halls as part of its staff for the upcoming school year.
Brooklynn Jones, a 2021 alumna and former student-athlete of Loogootee High School, has been appointed as a teacher for both middle and high school students, signaling a new chapter not only for her career but also for the school community.
Jones distinguished herself during her time at Loogootee High School through her exceptional talent and dedication in sports.
As a standout athlete in softball and basketball, she earned numerous accolades and was celebrated as one of the school’s top performers in both disciplines. Her leadership qualities and team spirit made her a role model among her peers.
After graduating from high school, Jones pursued higher education at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, where she has been enrolled since 2021 and is expected to graduate in 2025. During her college years, she continued her athletic pursuits, playing women’s basketball with great enthusiasm and resilience. Her commitment extended beyond sports; she demonstrated leadership on and off the court, taking on mentorship roles and actively participating in campus initiatives.
Simultaneously, Jones nurtured her passion for education. She chose to major in elementary education, driven by her desire to make a difference in children’s lives. Her motivation stems from her personal experiences with her nieces and nephews, which inspired her to dedicate her career to fostering learning and growth among young students.
In her college biography, Jones shared her heartfelt aspirations, stating, “I would like to help many other kids as well!” Her words reflect her genuine desire to contribute positively to her community and to support students in overcoming challenges and discovering their potential.
Her return to Loogootee High School as an educator is anticipated to bring a mix of enthusiasm, experience, and dedication. She is expected to serve as a motivating figure for students and staff alike, bridging her past experiences as a student-athlete with her future roles as an educator and community contributor.
