Loogootee Golf Team Finishes 14th at IHSAA Regional

MONTGOMERY, Ind. — The Loogootee High School boys’ golf team concluded its postseason run on Thursday, finishing 14th at the IHSAA Washington Regional at Country Oaks Golf Club.

The Lions posted a four-player team score of 332 in a highly competitive field. Castle High School captured the regional championship with a blazing 291, followed closely by Bloomington South (295) and Evansville Memorial (299) to claim the three advancing team spots for the state finals.

Brendan Green led the way for Loogootee, firing an 8-over-par 80. Green stayed steady through the front nine, carding a 39, before closing out his round with a 41 on the back half of the course.

Noah Hager carded an 81 for the Lions, highlighted by a strong 38 on the front nine. Paxton Arvin finished shortly behind with an 85, bounce-backing well on the back nine with a 40. Garrison Graber provided the final qualifying team score for the Lions, turning in an 86. Cooper VanHoy also competed for Loogootee, finishing the day with a 96.

Castle’s Brayden Lamborn took home individual medalist honors for the tournament, shooting a 3-under-par 69.
