Torrential rainfall and severe thunderstorms pounded southwest Indiana, pushing emergency infrastructure to the limit. The heavy flash flooding completely submerged portions of U.S. Highway 150 and key Loogootee streets, leaving over 500 local residents temporarily in the dark as utility crews navigated dangerous standing water to restore power grids.
