The Lady Lion Volleyball program is in search of a new head coach.

Loogootee Athletics said in a statement on the school’s athletic page would like to thank Coach Haley Cummins and her family for their commitment to our program.

Cummins, who coached at Loogootee High School has left the volleyball program this month to spend more time with family, as announced by Rick Simmler on Dec. 11.

Cummins won three sectional championships and a regional title during her short time as the Lions head volleyball coach.

Loogootee Community Schools is seeking a Head Varsity Volleyball Coach.

The Loogootee Lions are proud members of the Blue-Chip Athletic Conference. The Lady Lion volleyball program has a proud tradition and history. Teams have won 21 Sectional Championships; 10 Regional Championships; 2 Semi-State Championships; made 6 State Finals Appearances; 5 State Runner-Ups; and 7 Blue-Chip Championships.

Loogootee also is home to some of the best 1A facilities in the state! Jack Butcher Arena, where all home games are played, seats 4,571. We also have three other gyms (Activity Center; Lee’s Gym; and JFK Gym) which can accommodate four additional courts for practice; games; and tourneys.

We host an annual varsity volleyball tournament; a 6th grade tourney; and will be adding a 7th/8th grade tourney for the upcoming season. In short, volleyball is an important part of the Loogootee Athletic fabric.

Applications will be accepted until January 31, 2026 with the initial rounds of interviews taking place in February.
