Remembering Brenda Denny: A Life of Faith and Service

Brenda Sue Denny, 75, of Jasper, Indiana passed away peacefully in her sleep, listening to her favorite hymns, on Monday April 27, 2026, at Serenity Springs in Jasper, Indiana.

She was born on August 18, 1950, in Washington, Indiana to Alonzo and Clara (Ziegler) Denny.

Brenda grew up in Shoals and Rutherford Township. Early in life, she worked as a Rutherford Trustee, at Haas Marathon, Yaggi’s, Helig Meyers and St. Joseph Hospital. Brenda was known for her strong faith, laughter and wittiness. She was also known for her work in children’s ministry and translating for the Spanish community.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Raymond Denny, and her grandson, Franklin North.

She is survived by her daughters, Melissa North, Heather (Dean) Buechler and Harmony (Ankeet) Patel, her sisters, Jane McAnich, Linda Warren, Sandi (Randi) Bair and Sally (Charlie) Edwards. Her grandchildren, Josh (Natalie) Huff, Olive Sara Buechler (Josh Rodeck), Danielle Richards, Dean Jr. Buechler and Alex North (Kailyn Andrews), and her great-grandchildren, Tyson Mattingly, Tobias Reis, Mia Rodeck and Waylon Joe Richards.

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice, the staff at Serenity Springs, Dr. Campbell and Dr. Lusk for their wonderful care. A very special thank you to Amber in the office for being our superwoman behind the scenes.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday April 29, 2026 at 11:00 A.M at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church. Friends may visit on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.  Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery fund.
