The Loogootee Senior Center continues to offer area seniors a welcoming environment for physical fitness, social fellowship, and local history presentations through its weekly lineup of activities.
Located at 406 NW 1st Street in Loogootee, the Senior Center provides regular programming designed to keep local older adults active, engaged, and connected with their community. The following is the schedule of programs and events taking place for the week of August 24 through August 28:
- Monday, August 24th: Walking Trail & Chair ExerciseKick off the week with a morning walk along the City Park trail from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by Chair Exercise at the Senior Center from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- Tuesday, August 25th: Game Day: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.Join friends and fellow members for an afternoon of board games, cards, and socializing.
- Wednesday, August 26th: Seated Chair Exercise & CALL PresentationStart the morning with Seated Chair Exercise from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Later in the day, representatives from the Community Action Leading Loogootee (CALL) group will host an informational presentation on Historic Downtown Loogootee from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Thursday, August 27th: Lunch & Bingo with Martin County Council on Aging: 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.Enjoy lunch and an afternoon of Bingo hosted in partnership with the Martin County Council on Aging. Attendees are asked to bring a $5 gift for the prize pool.
- Friday, August 28th: Martin County Historical Society Presentation: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.Wrap up the week with a special regional history program presented by the Martin County Historical Society.
